About the device

How does Circadia work?

Circadia works by gently stimulating your brain to produce certain naturally occurring chemicals that improve mood and sleep. One of these chemicals is serotonin, known as the body’s mood regulator. Circadia also promotes alpha waves, which have a calming effect on the body. Additionally, the device helps to lower cortisol, your body’s stress hormone.

Who should NOT use Circadia?

The device should not be used on or near areas of the body, including the head, that contain implanted devices, such as stimulators, stents, or active or inactive implants such as deep brain stimulators and vagus nerve stimulators").

Additional precautions:

- Do not use this device around the Carotid sinus.

- Do not use this device if you have known or suspected heart disease.

- Do not use this device if you have known or suspected trigeminal neuralgia.

- Do not use this device if you are pregnant.

- Do not use this device if you have reacted poorly to the idea of electrical stimulation of any kind.

- Discontinue use if your skin becomes irritated around either electrode site.

Does Circadia cause any side effects?

Less than 1% of CIRCADIA users report a temporary headache, dizziness or skin irritation at the electrode sites. CIRCADIA may be used safely in conjunction with any medication.

Although not a side effect, improper use of the device may result in minor skin irritation beneath the electrode sites - this can occur if the sponges are not thoroughly wet before use or if the scalp and/or hair are not clean. Please watch the instructional video and read the instruction manual thoroughly before using the device.

The device has been on the market for decades without any reports of long-term negative effects. Many patients have used the device for years.

How to use

What does the stimulation feel like?

Many patients do not feel the stimulation at all, while some may feel a mild tingling at the sponge contact sites.

How often should I use Circadia?

We recommend using Circadia every day for the first 30 days. You may then continue on a daily basis, maintenance basis (3-4 times per week) or on an as-needed basis. There are no negative effects associated with abruptly ceasing its use.

How quickly will I experience results?

Most users will feel more relaxed after 10 minutes of stimulation and will experience durable results after the first two weeks of daily use.

How can I tell if the device is working?

If the green indicator light AND at least one yellow light are illuminated, the device is delivering stimulation. If there is no yellow light illuminated, make sure that:

- The sponges are thoroughly wet.

- The headband is wrapped tightly around your head.

- You have pushed your hair out of the way of the electrodes.

- The batteries are fresh/fully charged.
